Frequently asked questions

I have a Mac, can I still use Binload?

YES! Binload runs on both Windows and Mac computers! Once you've signed up you will have the option of downloading either a Windows executable or a Mac .dmg installer.

Is it really really free?

YES! We're currently testing the software and would like to have input from the community. As such, we're currently releasing the software free of charge for a limited time only. You can cancel at any time, and you will NOT be billed during the public beta. Once the free beta period is over we will send out a notice ahead of time, giving you the opportunity to convert your account from free to paid membership. If you do not wish to pay, your account will be removed once the free beta period is over.

How does Binload protect my privacy?

Binload offers free SSL support, which can be easily activated under the "settings" menu. Using SSL will ensure that all communication between the Binload servers and you are safe and secure.

Is downloading really legal?

Usenet is a global medium where thousands of people post materials, ranging from discussions to pictures, music, and movies. Some of these materials are posted without permission of their copyright holders. Binload has no way of verifying the legality of materials. As an internet service provider we are shielded from liability for distribution of these materials. Please check with a local lawyer if downloading is legal in your jurisdiction.

Can I upload movies with Binload?

No, you cannot. Binload is strictly a downloading service. The uploading or posting of movies without permission is an infringement of copyright, and Binload does not condone or support such infringement.

Can I announce my uploads using Binload?

No, don't do that. Binload does not condone or support the uploading or posting of copyrighted materials without permission, and does not wish to encourage people to upload such materials. Allowing you to announce what you have uploaded without permission could be seen as such encouragement.
